We are searching for a reliable Medical Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently.
Our Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical addiction treatments to patients and assist in supervised testing examinations.
This is a full-time position. Travel to a different office may be required.
We welcome Medical Assistants at any level of training to join us in order to help the community fight this national epidemic.

We train our staff with tools and evidence-based treatment protocols so that they become confident medical staff in helping with treating patients with addiction.

That is why we do not have our staff working during holidays or weekends and our staff is not required to be on-call.
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant, you will be assisting with direct patient care for mostly opioid and alcohol addiction at any of our outpatient locations.
You will be working on adopting the mission and vision of the organization.
You will be flexible to changes including adopting and collaborating treatment plans with your collaborative team.
You will be expected to be a team player with great personal and professional character.
You will act aa s medical liaison between other medical/behavioral health providers and collaborate with the clinic physician.
Update and maintain all digital client records and assist in transitioning hard copy records to digital format, able to handle medical releases according to HIPPA Compliance.
Record patient information such as vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
. Being able to do supervised urine collection for our patients for lab testing
. Working with new patients as they entered our program and doing intake coordination.
. Working together with providers on patient care.
Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
. Traveling to other offices for coverage as needed. Offices located in Westfield, Palmer, Chicopee, and Worcester.
Work in the front office taking care of tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility, Intake Coordination
Insurance verification, the collection of co-pays, prior authorization, and denials, obtaining referrals and discussing financial agreements with patients.
Assist the office manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
Qualifications, Experience, Licensures and Certification
Graduated from a Medical Assistant Program. Associate degree in a medical field (preferred)
2+ years of experience working in a healthcare practice or hospital * High level of professionalism
Strong customer service skills and organizational skills
Inventory management experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with EMR a plus
Experience with insurance verification and prior authorization helpful
Spanish Speaking (fluently) preferred
AAMA or RMA preferred
